Why i won't use Google Apps ever

We have our own webserver and also our own mail server. Not because we have valuable data but because i trust no one but me and want to be able to 'fix' something if it is broken without depending on a third party.

This is the story of how the biggest web community in latin america lost its domains.

Christian Van Der Henst is the owner of the biggest web community in latin america. He is the owner of "maestros del web" and also "foros del web".

I won't link to the domains because both sites dns have been changed.

He, as many other people, use google apps to host his email, online docs, chat, etc. and his main email account has been hacked. Since he uses that email address for just everything he started losing his domains, then his facebook account, etc.

He is very computer savy so i'm sure his password was not smth easy to discover.

The worst thing is that he is now trying to contact godaddy in order to recover his domains with no luck. How can he demonstrate that he is actually him without his email address?

First thing would be to use the password recovery question in his email address in order to gain access to it again, but no. Google will only provide the option for the recovery question if the email account has been idle for 24 hours. LMAO!

If this happened to me i will just login into my server and change the password command-line :)

Anyway, i know (i hope) i have some people that may be able to help him so send him an email LMAO! j/k send me an email so i can help him out fernando [AT@] funciton [DOT] com

Update 1: This guys is incredible! He even changed his contact info on the domains! http://whois.domaintools.com/maestrosdelweb.com

Update 2: @GoDaddyGuy said they are looking into the issue http://twitter.com/GoDaddyGuy/status/1216900478

Update 3: I have read that Christian has recovered his server but that godaddy can't help him. He has been adviced to contract a lawyer and contact ICANN. Incredible!
