Wonderful exchange replacement

I used to use exchange when i was in school and i love the features it has.

Here at work we used to use a postfix + dovecot setup in linux for email but some months ago i found zimbra. Zimbra is a paid/opensource exchange replacement.

I installed it on a spare server and then since January i replaced our main email server with it. Now we use imap instead of pop3, share calendars, share mailboxes, etc.

It works incredible! We are now integrating it (it uses soap internally) to our extranet.

Go and take a look at zimbra!

Adobe Connect Alternative

On weekends i love to surf the web looking to learn about new interesting open source projects.

Today i found a VERY interesting project. It’s a “adobe connect” alike meeting environment.

Supports audio, video, screensharing, chat, etc. Uses flash and it’s free!

Go check it out!

Flash Video is everywhere!

I’m excited to finally be able to share this. We have been working on a project to make Flash Video known by everybody in this country.

MSN Messenger lib for adobe air

I took the morning off from work in order to finally finish my actionscript msnlib for adobe air.
It allows you to connect and chat with msn messenger users within adobe air. It uses just ActionScript 3 and the air libs.

XMPP for real time flash communication

Why is xmpp or jabber not that spread into the flash community? Why we don’t see jabber as an option for real time collaboration apps together with flash? Here are my thoughts on the subject.
